Open Baptist Network
The Open Baptist Network provides ministerial endorsement for those who can no longer hold accreditation with the Baptist Union of Great Britain because of their marriage or relationship, and we walk together in covenant as part of the wider Baptist family. We came to this with sadness that it is necessary, and with hope for a faithful way forward.
The Open Baptist Network, is a supportive space for LGBTQ+ Baptist ministers. Together, we celebrate faith and foster a loving community that champions inclusivity and understanding.

Our Story
The Open Baptist Network is a dedicated support network in the UK, aimed at connecting and uplifting LGBTQ+ Baptist ministers. We provide pastoral support, recognition, and create a sense of belonging within the Baptist tradition. Our goal is to share our covenant, tell our story, and advocate for acceptance and love.

Network of support
You'll be a part of something bigger
We are a growing network of Baptist ministers who are, or may become, unable to hold BUGB accreditation because they are in a same-sex relationship or marriage. We are relational and carry clear expectations around continuing ministerial development, safeguarding training and DBS checks.
Community
Better Together
This community is a pastoral response to an urgent need, and not a separatist movement. We will covenant together as a network, building relationships with each other and shared lived experience. Yet we hope to remain part of the wider Baptist family in Britain.
Churches
The wider body.
Churches can also be a part of the Network, this is not an either/or. Covenanting with the Network is intended to be held alongside existing BUGB membership, not instead of it.
